·        Green (sedum roofing)
“Extensive” green roofing is the term used to describe the method of using a living plant, such as Sedum, to provide a continuous covering to a roof which has many benefits to the owner / occupier. Whilst it does increase the loading on a roof structure, this method can generally be used without any major additional structural alterations being required.
“Intensive” green roofing requires a deeper growing medium to allow the planting of a variety of plants, shrubs or even trees. Such roofs can even be used as recreational areas with seating areas and suchlike.
Intensive green roofs will inevitably require modifications to the roof strucure to cope with the increased loadings

There are many advantages to a green roof, including :

Improved thermal performance (especially reduction in heat gain during hot weather)

Improved sound absorption  qualities

Aesthetically pleasing

Rainwater retention at roof level thus reducing strain on already overloaded sewerage systems

Increased lifespan of the waterproofing system below (protection from UV’s)

Sedum roofs can be installed to new build or existing structures and whilst there is clearly an extra cost involved at the time of installation this is largely, if not completely, offset over time as the points mentioned above have financial, as well as environmental, benefits.

·        Single layer membranes
SRS have licenced installers of various systems in both PVC and TPO membranes. Our preferred option is for TPO (thermoplastic polyofelin) which are more environmentally friendly in terms of both production and recycling. All systems come backed with manufacturers guarantees and are installed by suitably trained and certified operatives. Membrane surfaced composite panels such as Wards Topdeck can also be fitted by ourselves

Rainwater goods can be supplied in a variety of materials and finishes including:
  1. Galvanised steel
  2. Stainless steel
